eLearning in Health conference announcement and call for participation

We are pleased to invite you to this new and exciting conference that will focus on the development, implementation and use of e-learning in health across the UK, with an overall theme of working together to enhance learning. It will take place on 16-17 July 2009 at the University of Warwick conference centre, just outside Coventry.

The event is organised by the Higher Education Academy Learning and Teaching in Health Network Group (HEALTH Network Group*), the University of Warwick, and King’s College London.

We welcome contributions and participation from anyone who supports or develops undergraduate or postgraduate programmes in health education, in both practice or HE settings.

Conference themes

The conference themes are:

  • new approaches to content development
  • repositories & metadata
  • resource discovery
  • content sharing
  • assessment
  • innovative tools and technologies to support learning.

Call for participation

Within the above themes, we invited 250 word summaries for posters, short presentations, demonstrations or workshops. We asked for contributions to be as participative and interactive as possible.

All suggestions will be reviewed by a panel representing a range of health education disciplines. Final selection will be made from this initial submission.

Dates

  • Registration open.
  • Deadline for submissions: ENDED (Wednesday 29 April 2009)
  • Notification of acceptance of all submissions: Friday 8 May 2009
  • Conference dates: 16 & 17 July 2009

Registration

Please register at AcademyOnline, where you will have to fill in some details about yourself. Click on HEALTH NG and then choose eLearning in health: working together to enhance learning.

Note that all contributors will be required to register for the conference using the online form. Payments can be made by personal cheque, credit card or purchase order.

Conference fee

There will be a subsidised rate for registration of £150 per person. Accommodation, meals and refreshments are included, and special diets will be catered for. NB the conference fee is applicable to everyone taking part or contributing to the conference.

Cancellation policy

If you are unable to attend this conference please inform us at least 5 working days prior to the event, so your place can be offered to another applicant. Unfortunately, if prior notice is not received, an administration charge of £50.00 will be incurred.
